Henry Peters acquires a farm of his own

To all People to whom these presents shall come : Greetings, Know ye, that I Sylvester Gilbert of Hebron in the county of Tolland for the consideration of one hundred and twenty dollars received to my full satisfaction of Henry Peters of sd Hebron, do give, grant, bargain, sell and confirm unto said Henry Peters – one certain piece of land in sd Hebron bounded, beginning at the center of a large stone in the wall on the south side of Columbia Turnpike, west of the bar place leading into the lane east of sd Henry’s dwelling house: and from thence running S 13 degrees – 50 minutes E in a direction toward a large chestnut Tree 20 Rods to a pile of stones- Thence westerly 16 rods parallel with sd Turnpike to a pile of stones, thence Northerly parallel with the first line 20 rods to sd Turnpike – Then easterly with Sd Turnpike 16 Rods to the first bound containing two acres with a dwelling house thereon.

To have and to hold the above granted and bargained premises, with the appurtenances thereof, unto him the said Henry Peters his heirs and assigns forever, to his and their own proper use and behoof.  And also I the said S Gilbert do for my self and my heirs, executors and administrators, covenant with the said H Peters his heirs, and assigns: that at and until the ensealing of these presents I am well seized of te premises as a good indefeasible estate in fee simple, and have good right to bargain and sell the same in manner and form as is above written, and that the same is free of all incumberances whatsoever.

And furthermore, I the said Sylvester Gilbert do by these presents, bind myself and my heirs to warrant and defend the above granted and bargained premises to him the said Henry Peters his heirs and assigns, against all claims and demands whatsoever.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this eight day of April Anno Domini 1833.

5-21--1833 Mortgage Deed

To all People to whom these Presents come – Greeting

Know ye that I Henry Peters of Hebron in Tolland County for the consideration of eighty dollars received to my full satisfaction of Sylvester Gilbert of Said Hebron

Do give, grant, bargain, sell and confirm unto the said Horace a certain piece of land in said Hebron, containing two acres with my dwelling House thereon and particularly bounded and described in sd Gilbert’s deed to me of the same, bearing date the eighth day of April 1833 reference thereto being had  

To have and to hold, the above granted and bargained premises unto him the said Sylvester Gilbert , his heirs and assigns for ever to his and their own proper use and behoof, And also I, the said Henry Peters do for myself and my  heirs, executors, and administrators covenant with said Sylvester Gilbert his heirs, assigns, that at, and until the ensealing of these presents, I am well seized of the premises, as a good and indefeasible estate in fee simple, and have good right to bargain and sell the same in manner and form as is above written, and that the same is free from all incumbrances whatsoever.

And furthermore, I the said Henry Peters do by these presents, bind myself and my heirs forever to warrant and defend the above granted and bargained premises to him the said Sylvester Gilbert his heirs and assigns, against all claims and demands whatsoever. Nevertheless  this deed is upon condition, that if the sd Henry Peters shall wll and truly pay to the sd Sylvester Gilbert one promisory note given to him by the sd Henry for the sum of thirty nine dollars 28 cents with interest from the first of April  1833 bearing the date 8th of April 1833 and payable on the 1st of Oct next – and also one other note for the same aforesaid sum of $39.28 with interest from sd first of April 1833 bearing the same aforesaid date, and payable on the 1st of Oct 1834 – if he shall pay sd note which are now justly due according to their tenor, then the foregoing deed is to be null and void. two years pay sd Note and Interest to him the sd Horace then the foregoing deed is null and void.

In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal the 9th day of April Anno Domini 1833

6-17-1833 Mortgage Deed

To all People to whom these Presents come – Greeting

Know ye that I Henry Peters of Hebron in Tolland County for the consideration of fort- two dollars received to my full satisfaction of Horace Peters of Said Hebron

Do give, grant, bargain, sell and confirm unto the said Horace a certain piece of land in said Hebron aforesaid  -- bounded  north on the Columbia Turnpike Road, and beginning by said Road at the northeast corner, the center of a large stone in the wall being the corner  bound and from thence S 13 degrees 50’ E twenty rods in a direction toward a large chestnut tree to a heap of stones  thence westerly a parallel line with sd road sixteen rods to a heap of stones – thence Northerly a parallel line with the first line twenty rods to sd Road – and thence easterly with sd road sixteen rods to the first mentioned bound – containing two acres with my dwelling House thereon

To have and to hold, the above granted and bargained premises unto him the said Horace, his heirs and assigns for ever to his and their own proper use and behoof, And also I, the said Henry Peters do for myself and my  heirs, executors, and administrators covenant with said Horace his heirs, assigns, that at, and until the ensealing of these presents, I am well seized of the premises, as a good and indefeasible estate in fee simple, and have good right to bargain and sell the same in manner and form as is above written, and that the same is free from all incumbrances whatsoever.

And furthermore, I the said Henry Peters do by these presents, bind myself and my heirs forever to warrant and defend the above granted and bargained premises to him the said Horace his heirs and assigns, against all claims and demands whatsoever.  This deed is upon condition, that whereas the sd Henry is justly indebted to the sd Horace in the sum of Forty-two dollar by note of even date herewith – Therefore if he the sd Henry shall within two years pay sd Note and Interest to him the sd Horace then the foregoing deed is null and void.

In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 17th day of June Anno Domini 1833
