Hebron Historical Society is Happy to present Mr. Kevin Johnson, an employee of the Connecticut State Library, to
speak on Thursday, October 8, 2026 in the Hebron Senior Center, Community Room at 12 Stonecroft Drive, in Hebron.
Mr. Johnson will portray Jordon Freeman, a Black man who was proud to be allowed to enlist in the Army of the United States in New London, Connecticut..
At this time, allowing a Black man to enlist was highly controversial and often generated heated conflict. It was also
when Captain Benedict Arnold defected to the British and expressed his anger towards his neighbors there, destroying both the fort and the community.
Please join us for this presentation beginning at 6:30. It is free of charge, but Donations are welcome.
