Entering our 61st Year!

All of our members past and present are valuable to us. There are some exciting events planned for 2026, our Nation’s 250th Birthday.

We hope you will consider joining us again.

It’s been a busy year for the Hebron Historical Society.

We need your help and support in planning and executing 2026 exhibits and programs. Past year happenings include:

  • Old Town Hall was open for the 1st time in many years during Hebron’s
    Memorial Day celebration.
  • America 250 themed programs of Power of Place, Doing History, Tell Inclusive Stories and For the Common Good were offered each month by partnering with several local organizations and town departments. Programs included Hebron history, National history, Patriotic music and Historic Research education.
  • Grant Funded Projects:
    • Hebron Greater Together Community Fund – sponsored performances by
Marlborough Ancient Fife & Drum Corp. on Make Music Day 2025
    • Town of Hebron, American Rescue Plan Act – Continued Restoration, exterior
painting and foundation repair of Old Town Hall (OTH)
    • Hebron Lion’s Charities – waterproofing of basement
    • CT Humanities – new web site
    • Hebron Greater Together Community Fund – Exhibit information printing and
      witness stone purchase for 2026
  • Old Town Hall restoration will be completed in 2026. Interior plaster repair is completed, painting is in progress. Refinishing of floors will complete the project.
  • Exhibit plans are in progress to detail Hebron’s settlement and the changes which have occurred.
  • Collections Committee will begin online inventory through Ct. Collections
collaborative (CtCo). This offers public access to items in our collection and safe backup of information.
  • Witness Stones program, in conjunction with RHAM Middle School history
students, will place 2 commemorative stones in June. This program is a biennial offering through the school.

Additionally, we will continue to offer historical programs with America 250 themes and participate in local events. Your contribution makes you a part of a supportive community that helps us plan engaging new programs!
