Less than a day after Anne Ives passed away, this double rainbow appeared over Old Town Hall!

Anne Ives (January 24, 1932 – November 15, 2017), Charter Member of the Hebron Historical Society, left us this double decoration over Old Town Hall. Anne was one of The Society’s main workers in the organization’s early days. In order to raise the necessary funding for the interior restoration of Old Town Hall, a Restoration Committee was formed with Anne and Henrietta Green serving as co-chairmen. Anne organized a Doll Show that she ran for at least 28 years, and raised over $70,000. It was said by vendors that this “was the biggest and best show in New England.”

Although unable to be active in recent years, Anne retained her interest in The Society and Old Town Hall. Anne’s family has suggested that donations may be made to the Hebron Historical Society, PO Box 43, Hebron, CT 06248.

Anne’s family will receive guests starting at 10 AM on Tuesday, November 21st at the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home in Colchester, prior to a Chapel Service at 11:00. Burial will follow in the New Hebron Cemetery.
